Information You Send
If you enter a name, phone number, or address in a search form, that submission goes to the independent third-party provider operating the results service; our servers do not retain a copy of the query. A message sent to us reveals what you include, and we use it to answer you.
Routine Technical Information
The hosting environment may record ordinary server-log details such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time. We use aggregate patterns to maintain the site and understand which pages are useful. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also use cookies or comparable technologies where enabled.
How We Use Limited Data
These limited data support site operation, troubleshooting, traffic counts, and page improvements. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual user profiles.
Links and Independent Privacy Rules
Our pages point to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and sponsored search tools. When you submit information at one of those destinations, its own privacy policy applies; sponsored results are supplied by an outside company.
Who Can Receive It
Hosting and technical-support providers may process server logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise do not disclose it.
Safeguards and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for as long as the purposes above require. Because there are no accounts, this site has no password or user profile of yours to expose.
People Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you think a minor sent us information, contact us and we will delete what we can locate.
California Privacy Choices
Where applicable, the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), Civil Code §§1798.100 et seq., provide qualifying California consumers with rights to know or access, delete, and correct personal information, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive personal information uses, and receive nondiscrimination. These rights apply to covered businesses under the statute; they do not provide a way to erase lawful county, city, court, recorder, or assessor source records. See the California Attorney General's CCPA/CPRA information for details. Because we keep very little, a request to us usually involves checking the contact mailbox and server logs and removing what we find; use the Contact page to ask. The California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000 et seq., is the access framework for identifiable state and local agency records, subject to exemptions; it does not give this site control over a custodian's lawful source records or create a general deletion route. For a public record, direct access or correction questions to the responsible custodian.
Policy Revisions
We will post any revision to this policy on this page. Continuing to use the site after an update indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
